SHELBY, OH- On Friday, September 8, Snap Fitness in Shelby held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate new ownership.

The fitness center, originally opened in 2012, had been owned by corporate headquarters located in Minnesota. There were management issues due to the distance of the facility from the owners, and the Shelby Snap Fitness center was scheduled to close. Local residents Chris and Heather Braun decided they didn't want Shelby to be without a place to exercise, so as of August 1 they became the new owners.

The Brauns have brought some changes to the fitness center including lower rates, new classes, and promotions towards 'Silver Sneaker' members, which is part of an insurance program that allows those who have it to visit the gym for free.
