EAST LIVERPOOL, OH - A year ago, police in East Liverpool shared a photo on Facebook to show the opioid problem in their community.

The picture, showing a little boy in a car with two adults passed out in the front, quickly went viral. Today, authorities say the photo has brought changes to the community's drug problem.

East Liverpool's Mayor believes the drug situation in the community has improved, and if nothing else, it is harder to acquire drugs in the town now.

The residents in East Liverpool have apparently stepped up and reported more possible drug activity than ever before.

In 2016, the town reported twelve drug overdoses but so far in 2017, only two have been reported.
